Background & Experience
Mike Wood's tenure with Norris, Beggs & Simpson began in January 1997 with the Portland Real Estate Finance Department. One year later, Mike relocated to Puget Sound and spearheaded the expansion of Norris, Beggs & Simpson's Real Estate Finance operations in the area. In 2002, he was appointed as a branch manager and in 2003, Mike was named Vice President. Mike's most recent challenge was relocating the office from its Bellevue, Washington location to Seattle in order to expand the company's presence in the area and provide better access for lenders and borrowers to our nationally-recognized services. He continues to originate mortgage loans for correspondent life insurance companies, conduits, and other various lenders and was recently named one of Genworth Financial's Top Ten Correspondents in the nation. Mike became a partner in 2007.
Prior to joining the company, Mike worked for Geonerco, Inc., a regional homebuilder headquartered in Seattle, under the title of Property Manager/Land Acquisition. As Property Manager, he managed the leasing and selling of 150 rental homes, among numerous other responsibilities. Mike's acquisition experience includes performing feasibility studies and overseeing the acquisition of raw land and finished lots for homebuilding. Mike dealt with various building departments and county engineers while handling the purchase negotiations.
Education
Mike earned a bachelor's in economics from the University of Washington and is a licensed broker in Washington.
